Day +2

December 10, 2009

Just a quick update to let everyone know that Jonathan and Lynne are both doing well. Jonathan had a good night’s sleep at home before heading back to Baltimore today. He’s  fatigued, but everything’s moving along right on track. Lynne’s on the mend and resting well, too.  Tomorrow’s starts 2 days of heavy duty, post-transplant chemo.  They’ll be long days for Jonathan and hopefully not too rough.

Thanks to Joseph, Sophie and Ethan & Ari for the great artwork and get well messages that are adorning our fridge right now! Sending our love to all of you.

    Dear Jonathan,
My name is Lesley. I have been following your story since last September, 2009 when my sister Jennifer Jones Austin http://www.savejen.com was diagnosed with leukemia – acute myeloid leukemia. Just like you and your family, our world was turned upside down as we desperately searched for a bone marrow transplant match for Jennifer who is African-American. I was sooooooo happy when I heard that your sister was going to be your donor!!!! As it turns out, we recently got news that Jennifer will receive a cord blood transplant this coming Wednesday, February 20th! Praise God!!! I will continue to keep you and your sister in my prayers. Please do the same for Jennifer. God Bless! I am so happy for you and Jennifer and pray that more persons register as bone marrow transplant or cord blood donors to save lives!
