Getting some R&R
October 27, 2009
Sorry for not writing for a while. Just wanted to let you know I got out of the hospital about a week ago. The last round of chemo has been harder to recover from than my previous ones. So, I’ve been at home resting and going to the clinic every other day. My counts are still down and my doctor decided to push back the transplant to December 8th to give me more time to get stronger. At least this will give me the chance to have a yummy Thanksgiving dinner at home.
Thanks to everyone that has written and called me to offer their support. Every bit helps. I’ll keep you posted as we draw near the transplant date.

Jonathan,
I saw mention of your story at my gym, Fitness First, in Chantilly.
The way you and your friends and family have rallied to fight this thing is inspirational.
Know that I, along with many others, am praying and rooting for you.
With Best Regards,

Hey Jonathan!
I have been following your website diligently since my mother was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in October.
I am fascinated by the strength of you and your family. I am trying to create the same kind of positive momentum with my family, but it is proving difficult. I thank you for posting the way you have — it has allowed me to be more prepared for each round.
My mother too faces a BMT at Johns Hopkins — perhaps I will bump into you! I will be praying for you as I do for mother. Stay strong my friend.
Warmly,
Ricky Potter

Hi Jonathan,
I’m marking December 8th on my calendar. I hope you feel well enough to have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends. Eat lots of turkey to build up your strength. There has been a lot of good news lately. Matthew from Team Matthew is recovering well. Zyreal has had his transplant and is entering his recovery period. Tami continues to recover as well. Will hope and pray that all of you are healthy and whole by this time next year.
