I know this is a long-shot, and you probably already know it, but there are lots of different bone marrow registries around the country and no single list of everyone who’s been typed…I didn’t find this out until after I’d become part of one registry (http://www.crir.org/caitlin.php)…it required a lot of paperwork and time on the phone to have my info included in the National Marrow Donor Program…and it’s still not part of the American Bone Marrow Donor Registry (http://www.abmdr.org/). This is important for two reasons:

    a) the need for people requiring marrow donations to check every registry they can find

    b) the need for people who’ve become part of one registry to try and get listed on others (I learned that you don’t need another cheek swab to get on the National registry; I was just told to fill out a form and the other registry would transfer the info).

    Good luck!

here are some other registries–I really wish they were all linked under one umbrella group!

    William G. Pomeroy Foundation
    C. W. Bill Young Marrow Donor Program (the Dept. of Defense side of the National Marrow Donor program)
Bone Marrow Donors Worldwide http://www.bmdw.org (they include Israeli and Eastern European registries, which could help, and they have a long list of registries at http://www.bmdw.org/index.php?id=addresses_members&no_cache=1)
